Lesson 1: Never go on a long outdoor hike with old or uncomfortable boots.
Lesson 2: In the event that you get a blister, have Lavengel® on hand. It's arguably the best thing that can be used on them to dull the pain and help them heal.
Speaking of heels, Noah acquired a pretty good sized blister on the back of his foot and tried Lavengel® on it. You can see the healing progression photos and read his testimony below:
"I earned a gnarly fluid blister on my left heel after hiking in some old boots that rubbed the spot raw. I had some Lavengel on hand and figured I'd try it out. I applied it that evening before bed and twice a day (morning and night) over the next week.
The pain reduction was PHENOMENAL. The very next day, I put some gel on before putting on different boots and spending the day spreading mulch outdoors with ZERO discomfort. It really only hurt if you actually pressed directly on it, and we're talking a blister the size of a quarter in a high-impact spot.
On Day 3, I drained the blister, cleaned it, and applied the gel on the inside, which by this time was pink rather than the normal angry red. Getting the gel on the inside seemed to speed the process, IMO, because it looked and felt even better the next day. All the while there was virtually no pain while keeping the gel on it.
After a week, the pinkness and pain were gone, and I ceased using Lavengel®. By day 10, you could hardly tell there had been anything there at all other than a small shallow hole.
I'm no stranger to blisters, and I KNOW they don't go away that quickly or quietly on their own. Cannot recommend highly enough!"

How to Quickly Get Rid of a Fluid Blister with Lavengel®
Using Noah's account, here are a few simple steps to relieve and speed the healing of a fluid blister:
- Don't immediately drain the fluid from the blister for at least a day or two. Clean the blister with soap and water and gently dry it.
- Apply a layer of Lavengel®, completely covering the blister and surrounding area. Apply a bandage if you wish. Do this morning and at night or as needed.
- On Day 2 or 3, puncture the blister, gently drain it out, clean it with an antiseptic such as hydrogen peroxide or isopropyl alcohol, then rinse and dry. You do not have to remove the top layer of dead skin on the blister, as it serves a sort of "bandage" for the underlying skin.
- Put a dab of Lavengel® inside the hole in the blister and spread it to cover the underlying skin.
- Keep applying as needed until it heals!
